“Hidden Figures” By: Margot Lee Shetterly

“Hidden Figures” is a nonfiction book written by Margot Lee Shetterly. It’s about african american women who accomplished the difficult task of projecting NASA’s air launch of a rocket in to space, including the launch of an airplane. This book focuses on four masterminds who are african american women: Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, Katherine Johnson, Christine Darden. During this time period, of fighting for equality rights, Cold war, and other circumstances, these women were able to join NASA and help out with their program of launching a rocket to space, especially their phenomenal work in aerospacedynamics.

I loved this book, because it was inspirational to young women, because I think that this book was emotional in many ways for one fighting for what is right. Also, I would recommend this book to young adults ages eleven and up because it talks about our nations history, the strong intellect of four african american women; and I think that many readers will enjoy this heartfelt book.

“Middle School The Worst Years Of My Life” By: James Patterson

“Middle School The Worst Years Of My Life” is a realistic fiction novel written by James Patterson. Rafe Khatchadorian is not just a regular middle schooler, he is a troublemaker. Rafe Khatchadorian changes the rules, and makes rules is own way. He has moved to many schools because of his careless attitude and bad behavior. Throughout this book many readers will experience laughter, joy, and other heartfelt emotions.

I think that this book was good, because it consumed of a lot of humor, which I enjoyed a lot. I would recommend this book to ages eleven and up both boys and girls. This is because it contains crude humor, that will make the reader laugh, I think that ages eleven and up can relate to this novel because they are either in middle school or have been through middleschool.

Percy Jackson and the Greek gods

Percy Jackson and the Greek gods is a fantasy novel written Rick Riordan.  This book tells you about each of the gods and their stories and history. It tells about the Greek gods experiences and why they are what they are now. And the best thing about it is that it is in Percy’s point of view! So this book contains a lot of sarcasm and jokes. This is an example from the book itself, “If you like horror shows, blood baths, lying, stealing, backstabbing, and cannibalism, then read on. Read the book for the full experience.

Someone has been manipulating both the Greencloaks and Erdas’s leaders, all to uncover a powerful relic with the potential to flood the entire world. Read the book to see what happens.

They head for a hidden refuge of learning in Nilo, hoping to discover the locations of the other two gifts. Guarding this knowledge are their old friends Takoda and Xanthe, along with Kovo the Ape. Some other characters from former books help and don’t help. This book shocked me more than any other book. Read and find out why!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is a fantasy novel written by J.K. Rowling , and my favorite Harry Potter book of all times.  This book is so deep and interesting and gets into issues never seen before.  It starts off with the three friends attending a Quidditch world cup game with Ron’s family, when a mark of the dark lord appears in the sky.  A contrast to a terrible event, the good news of a wizard competition between the three main wizard schools was to be occurring in the fourth year of Harry’s schooling. The catch was that only upperclassmen could enter.  However, he is somehow entered into a Triwizard tournament, making it a total of four competitors.  He aces the first two, and is tied for first place with the other Hogwarts competitor.  They help each other out throughout and decide that either of them must win.

Although it sounds like a great plan, Harry’s friendship with Ron is declining as of his glory that was getting into his head.  The last challenge is with a maze and the two Hogwarts competitors, Harry and Cedric Diggory, reach at the same time.  They decide to lift it together, as they both deserve it, but the trophy they lift is a portkey. (teleporter)  They are taken to the dark lord’s lair, and he kills Cedric immediately.  Harry is tortured, but duels with the dark lord only to see his mom, dad, and all the souls Voldemort had killed.  He grabs the portkey and Cedric’s body and returns to the maze.  Everyone is devastated over the death, and the most intensive hunt for the dark lord yet begins. Read the book for the full experience.

Diary of The Wimpy Kid Dog Days

Diary of the wimpy kid dog days is a fantasy novel written by Jeffery Patrick Kinney. The classic Greg Hefley is back with his goofy self. But this time, its summer. He had it all planned out video games, sleepovers, junk food, despite that, Greg’s father had other plans for a father son bonding time. Greg desperately does not want his dad to ruin his summer vacation, so he tells his dad he has a job at a country club. Greg’s own plan backfires with all sorts of embarrassing moments. On top of that Greg’s brother, Roderick, is still there to make fun of him every step of the way.

In my opinion, I liked the book a lot. It was full of excitement, it was unpredictable and it was also very humorous. I would give this book a four and a half out of five.

Diary of the wimpy kid: The Last Straw

This book is the third installation to the series. This book is written by Jeff Kinney. This book is about Greg, who is happy its finally summer break, but his dad on the other hand thinks he is lazy. His dad tries force many things on Greg such as sports, camping, fishing, etc. You have to read this book in order to see what hilarious attempts Greg tries to pull off, so he can fix his broken bonds with his dad. This book just like the previous ones are filled with laughter. This book is more of a complex text than the past two were. I would recommend this to anyone who is at least 12+.
